I’m working on an introduction speech for a panel I’m moderating tomorrow on intersectionality in the local climate movement, and grounding it in an explanation of what intersectionality is and is not. this write-up is from a white dude, telling white people to quit misusing and diluting the concept to serve white supremacy. a good one to share with the well-intentioned white comrades in your life.

whats funny is like, now all these softie ass white friends i got, remembering Nazi’s existed. like, my dude , in 2001 you jumping anybody with a bald spot screaming “NAZI PUNKS FUCK OFF” wtf happened???
White get more ignorant, and accommodating of white nonsense in dog years, sis.
it’s really true though. when i was a teenager i was woken up, not by my kool-aid sipping black friends in school, but but fucking white people. and not just white people, white teenagers.
now we’re 30 and they’ve grown complacent or the best they do is “this pussy grabs back” bullshit.
but when we were fifteen they were fuckin ride or die. they brought BATS to shows they thought NAZI’s were gonna show up to,they used to VOW OUT LOUD to protect people.
now they’re in Studios in fucking Bushwick at their computers like “wow this racism crap is terrible…”
Before “Get out” came out, i used to write this story about how older white people take over the bodies of the younger generation, and thats why shit stays the same, and they become complete zombies when they turn 20-25.
Its like that hippies of the 60s turned into Regean democrats when they got house and 2.5 kids
its a cycle for white folks^^^
Whites only use “being woke” as a stage of rebellion against whiteness itself.
When the rebellion phase is over, when it’s no longer beneficial to be combative , they go back to trying to fit in, or at minimum work toward appearing calm and centrist.
They know the social harm in being “too aggressive”, that’s why there are so many white phrases like
If You’re Not a Liberal at 25, You Have No Heart. If You’re Not a Conservative at 35 You Have No Brain"
It’s all about status
Yup. They drop the pretense when they realize that being white and assimilating to whiteness is more beneficial than tearing the system down. It’s why you see more young-ish white people joining in on the resistance and rebellion bit, because they’re in that “phase” of their lives. They’ll turn around and assimilate soon enough when they’re tired of having to be “one of us.”
Unless we call one white man, by name, a ‘devil,’ we are not speaking of any individual white man. We are speaking of the collective white man’s historical record. We are speaking of the collective white man’s cruelties, and evils, and greeds, that have seen him act like a devil toward the non-white man. Any intelligent, honest, objective person cannot fail to realize that this white man’s slave trade, and his subsequent devilish actions are directly responsible for not only the presence of this black man in America, but also for the condition in which we find this black man here. You cannot find one black man, I do not care who he is, who has not been personally damaged in some way by the devilish acts of the collective white man!
