WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK!?

NO SERIOUSLY WHAT THE FUCK!?

The United Nations proposed a law condemning nations who sentence people in the LGBT community, among other minorities, to death.

And the U.S. voted against it.

They refused to condemn countries who SENTENCE THE LGBT COMMUNITY TO DEATH!

The United Nations isn’t one of those gray areas. All of the laws and legislations are intentionally black and white. In this case, you either condemn killing the LGBT community for the sake of being gay/trans/etc. Or you don’t.

There’s no middle ground. There’s no interpretation. There’s no reading into it.

On October 3rd, 2017, the United States refused to condemn sentencing the LGBT Community to death. Which can only mean that they’re in favor of sentencing the LGBT Community to death.

but in good news

I wonder what could be the explanation…

what a mistery…

I guess we’ll never know…

we can only imagine there must have been a reason

Literally nothing will ever be as satisfying as the 4 minute long fight sequence in Kingsman: The Secret Service, in which Colin Firth mercilessly wastes an entire Westboro Basptist Church like congregation as the guitar solo from Lynard Skynard’s 1973 anthem Freebird plays in the background.

This was the best career move Colin Firth ever made

absolutely fucking iconic

You are all forgetting some thing:

What he says to a member of the Westboro Baptist Churchy Club when he gets up to leave.

“I’m a catholic whore, currently enjoying congress out of wedlock with my black, Jewish boyfriend, who works at a military abortion clinic. So, hail Satan, and have a lovely day, madam.”

so early this morning (8/14) heavy rainfall led to a horrible landslide in Sierra Leone

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/aug/14/deaths-sierra-leone-mudslide-regent

There have so far been 312 confirmed deaths but people are still digging through the rubble. Thousands of people are now homeless. It’s horrific, and to make things worse of all is that this was preventable. The horrible disaster was a result of carless construction on hills and terrain that was unsuitable just for the profit of the minister (a minsiter is the person who owns the land and gets paid to have people build on it) even though he was aware the land was unsuitable, he let construction happen away. This lead to hundreds of buildings being built on an unstable hillside and eventually crumbling. Keep Sierra Leone in your prayers.

please reblog, it’d be nice if more people were aware of what happened for when donations start becoming available (hopefully)

Are there any donations set up for the people, stores, etc? Or any organizations that are directly helping?

I’m seeing this org as one: https://www.cpcssl.org/

First Nation shocked by video showing police officers stepping on handcuffed man’s back as doctor watches

Police officers pepper-sprayed Romeo Wesley, subdued him with a baton, handcuffed him, then stepped on his back and neck with their boots on the night the 34-year-old died at the Health Canada nursing station in Cat Lake First Nation.

At one point, a doctor watches as two Nishnawbe Aski police officers — one who has removed his shirt — press their boots into Wesley’s back as he lies face-down on the floor of the waiting area of the nursing station, kicking his legs.

A security video shown at a coroner’s inquest and obtained by CBC News and other media shows several minutes pass after Wesley stops moving before anyone checks his vital signs.

Police are seen taking photographs of the prone man.  A nurse is visible at various times throughout the 45-minute video mopping the floor around Wesley and offering towels to the police officers after they’d subdued Wesley.

The video, from the nursing station’s security camera, was entered into evidence last week at a coroner’s inquest into Wesley’s death in September 2010.

Transgender teenager Ava Le’Ray Barrin killed in Athens, Georgia

gaywrites:

For the 14th time this year, we are saying the name of a transgender person of color who was lost to senseless violence. Ava Le’Ray Barrin, who was only 17, died in Athens, Georgia in an altercation with someone she knew. She died from a gunshot wound, and her killer was arrested.

A candlelight memorial service for Barrin was held in Athens at 7:00 PM EDT Monday evening at the complex, and her funeral arrangements are still pending.

Ava Le’Ray Barrin is not only the 14th trans person killed this year, she is now the youngest trans woman to die in the US, at age 17.  All 14 trans women murdered in the US this year have been trans women of color, with 12 of the 14 being Black. One person, Jamie Lee Wounded Arrow, was Native American, and we recently lost our first Latina in Josie Berrios.

17 years old. She was a child. Rest in peace and power, Ava.
